Field Force
The largest of the three divisions within the State Police, the Field Force, or Uniform, Division is also the most visible. The division includes the twelve Field Stations throughout Vermont, from which our uniformed Troopers provide law enforcement services to approximately 200 towns, 90 percent of the land mass and 50 percent of the population of Vermont. Our patrol responsibilites also include nearly 320 miles of interstate highways.
The Field Force division also includes the Traffic Safety Team, which focuses on highway safety education and enforcement throughout the state. Also included is oversight of the VSP Special Teams and the Recreational Enforcement Unit.
The Field Force Division inludes four regional (arranged by Troop) communication centers that provide both police dispatch services to our troopers, and Enhanced 911 service to all Vermonters.
