St. Albans Barracks

Historically one of the busiest barracks in the State Police, the St. Albans barracks covers two counties in northwest Vermont.  From our barracks in St. Albans Town, we provide The St. Albans VSP barrackspolice services to thirteen communities in Franklin County and five in Grand Isle County.

Bakersfield, Berkshire, Enosburg, Fairfax, Fairfield, Fletcher, Franklin, Georgia, Highgate, Montgomery, Richford, Sheldon, and Swanton Town all rely on the VSP as their primary law enforcement agency.  The Swanton Village Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's office both provide some limited contracted patrol coverage, and we work closely with both agencies.  We also work closely with the St. Albans Police Department, which covers both St. Albans city & town.

St. Albans Troops stand for inspectionIn Grand Isle County, we are the primary police agency for the towns of Alburgh, Grand Isle, Isle LaMotte, North Hero, and South Hero.  This coverage is augmented by our strong relationship with the Grand Isle Sheriff's Office.

Additionally, we are responsible for the safety and enforcement of 24 miles of Interstate 89, from the county line to the Canadian Border.  We are also one of two VSP barracks that have an international border, as well as a large part of Lake Champlain, and we often work with Federal Agencies such as ICE, Border Patrol, and the Coast Guard.
