On June 1, 1972 a body was located in the Passumpsic River in Barnet. Investigators at the time were not able to identify the body. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide. In 2007, during a review of the case and the examination of evidence in the case, the victim was identified as Vincent Palmieri. However this case remains unsolved.
