Westminster Barracks

In July 2016, the Vermont State Police opened a new barracks in Westminster, just off from Interstate 91 at Exit 5. The new barracks is replacing the older buildings in Rockingham and Brattleboro. From the Westminster Barracks, Troopers will provide coverage for south eastern Vermont, along Interstate 91.

Westminster barracks sign with addressLocated in Windham County, the new barracks covers the majority of Windham and Windsor counties, along with parts of Bennington County. We provide primary law enforcement services for the towns of Andover, Athens, Baltimore, Brookline,Cavendish, Dummerston, Gilford, Grafton,Halifax, Jamaica, Londonderry, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, Rockingham, Somerset, Stratton, Townshend, Wardsboro, Westminster, Weston,Whitingham and Windham. To our west, the Bennington County towns of Peru and Landgrove also fall within our service area. We also provide back-up and assistance as requested to the Brattleboro, Chester, Dover, Ludlow, Springfield, Weathersfield, Wilmington, Winhall, and Windsor Police Departments, and the Windham County Sheriff’s Department. Additionally, Westminster is responsible for patrolling nearly 60 miles of Interstate 91, from the Massachusetts state line to Hartland, VT.
