Mary Wilcox was reported missing in 2006 by her daughter, who she lived with in Westford, VT at the time. It was reported that Mary was suicidal and had made comments that she wanted to return to Pennsylvania and may have called a taxi to take her there.

In December of 2009, the Vermont State Police learned through their investigation that Mary Wilcox's daughter is responsible for her mother's death.

It is believed that Mary Wilcox's daughter burned her mother's body on her property in an attempt to conceal the death. The remains were then reportedly given to Mary Wilcox's grandson (Greg Sevigny) for disposal. He is believed to have buried his grandmother's remains in a wooded area in Westford, VT. Mary Wilcox's daughter had reported her mother missing on November 10, 2006. The search for Mary Wilcox's remains is ongoing.
