Crash Reconstruction Team

Crash Reconstruction Team at workThe Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is made up of troopers and sergeants throughout the state. They are available on request to assist other troopers or other police agencies with serious crash investigations.

K-9 Unit (Police Dogs)

The Vermont State Police K-9 Unit is the largest police canine unit in Vermont.  The unit consists of 21 teams comprised of patrol/narcotic, bomb detection, arson (accelerant detection) and cadaver (human remains) teams.  Some team members also are assigned to and support other VSP units such as the Tactical Services Unit, Bomb Squad, Search and Rescue, and the Crime Scene Search Team. 

Bomb Squad

VSP bomb squad, fall 2019The Vermont State Police Bomb Squad is the only accredited public safety bomb squad in Vermont and is commanded by Lt. David Petersen. All team members are certified by the FBI as bomb technicians.
