The Critical Incident Dispatch Team is the only VSP team made up of civilian personnel. The team is staffed by dispatchers from our two emergency communication centers. When needed for emergency or pre-planned incidents, the team staffs and operates a State Police Mobile Command Center.
A Mobile Command Center provides on-scene communications along with administrative support from the team during ongoing incidents. The command posts are used for planned events such as concerts or directed enforcement details, and for evolving emergency incidents such as homicides or search & rescue calls.
Requests for the Critical Incident Dispatch Team or the Mobile Command Center can be made through the appropriate VSP Station.
